Blank Tabs in forms with hidden fields after SP 17 -> SP24 upgrade
We've recently upgraded from OVSD SP17 to SP24.
We have a few forms which have tabs containing fields that are visible for some roles (according to customer), but hidden for others.
We have found that if a tab on a form has nothing but hidden fields on it, then the tab will not be visible (as expected), but if the same form has "group box" elements on it, that the tab will remain visible with nothing on it.
We can fix this by removing the group box elements, but these are needed for our user interface design, so this solution is not desirable, nor would we like to have separate forms for different customer roles.
Has anyone found a way to make these empty tabs invisible when all fields on the tab are hidden from the role viewing the form?
Re: Blank Tabs in forms with hidden fields after SP 17 -> SP24 upgrade
I was hoping to avoid having to redesign our forms yet. Before the upgrade OVSD would graciously hide tabs which only contained hidden fields.
Currently, our roles dictate directly what fields can and can't be seen by users when they open a service call. It sounds like now we're going to have to design the dynamic forms with the user roles in mind? Sounds like a lot of business logic!
