Automatically attaching Print Screen in OVSD Service Calls

Hello OVSD fellows,

In order to help SD agent to efficiently collect and document incident information,
I would like to build a Smart Action which would:
- Open Wordpad using SC# as file name
- Automatically attached it to the SC when the wordpad is closed.

Has anybody already built such an action and how.
Other workaround suggestion is also warmly welcome.

Bonjour Raymond,

We have done more or less this using Java. A boolean field is formatted as a button which, when clicked, triggers a UI rule. The UI rule runs the Java program, which opens a Word template. The user pastes images into the Word doc. When you quit Word, the file is named using the item ID, and is placed via ftp on the OVSD server. There is one directory for each item type (SC, CH, WO, INC, PRB, etc.).

Finally, another boolean field, formatted as a check box, is set to true.

We investigated another solution using an application that manages print screens and can save them to files, but it turned out to be rather complicated and inflexible.

Yet qanother question did you investigate tthe use of WebAPI to build a tighter integration (i.e. automatic linkage to attachments).
