Is anyone having incidents created automatically when an OVO alert is issued? Are you having them created in service desk software? Do you have any comments on the ease of developing this with service desk vs some other incident software?
Yes you can create Incidents from the OVO Messages then you have to CHECK the "Forward to Trouble Ticket" opention in the Tempalte Condition Window and should have the appropriate Software loaded on the Management Server to take care of forwarding the Tickets.
Examples are OVSD from HP SC from Preigrine (Now HP)
integration with OVSD from OVOW will allow creation of incidents. Annotations and ack's can also be sent back and forth. message from OVSD can be sent when incident is created in OVSD to message browser.
The integration needs many things, fairly straight forward.
account on ovsd server for ovow. policies and ini's configured. integration pack, downloadable from HP. wbem odbc. All this is outlined in the integraion installation notes avaialable with integration pack. hth
