Auditing Status changes in History tab

Hi all,

I have Status field audited. However, it does not perform in the manner i thought it would.

When I set Status = Registered, it is added in the History tab.

When I change it to other value, it only adds one line to the History Tab:
Line 1 - "Registered" is set to "In Progress"

If change Status = Pending, its still Line 1 but:

Line 1 - "Registered is set to "Pending"

This is not the auditing I expected it to be. Here is how I thought it would work:
Everytime the status is changed, I want the current and next state to be added into history line.For eg:

Line 1 - "Registered" is set to "In Progress"
Line 2 - "In Progress" is set to "Pending"
Line 3 - "Pending" is set to "Completed"

Is this a bug or nature of SD?

Is there a workaround or DB/UI rule which can help me achieve this?

Using SD 4.5, SP 14

Amy,

Are you saving the item in between status changes? System History Lines are only really created when you save the item. They will only show the final change done in between saves.

We also advise people to save an item using Ctrl+S immediately after a status is changed. This way, everyone else can see the status. In addition, I think this will solve your problem.

For your requirement, you need to Save and Close the Call first. Only then the information in the history lines will come the way you need them.
