Attachments to the HPSD5.1

hi,

a very small query, i tried to find the solution but couldn't.

just required to know if there is any file size restriction for the attachments in the service desk?

sd5.1

we have a seperate ftp server.
how huge a file can be attached as an attachment in the service desk?
and also what all various formats of the files can be supported/attached?

your help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Attachments to the HPSD5.1

you can Specify a maximum attachment size limit for the entire system or operator or
attachment container.

If you do not specify a value in one of these three places, there is no limit on the size of attachments, and operators can add attachments as large as the database record will hold.

What? Operator? Attachment container? Database record? I think hamiditch is talking about ServiceCenter.

There is no size restriction in SD.
You can set a restriction in the FTP server but it will cause FTP errors when attaching the files.

Hope this helps.
Points are welcome.

Re: Attachments to the HPSD5.1

Any format.
The database stores a softlink (so to speak) to the file in the FTP server.

The ability to open the attachment in a client PC depends on the program associated with the extension in the file's name.

Points are welcome.
