Approval Votes - Approved status not in DB / UI rule.

Hello;

We are in process of implementing Change Management Module using HPOV Service Desk 5.1 patch 3 on HPUX Itatium Platform.

We are not able to create rule based on Approval Votes Approval, because we are unable to see in the DB/UI rule

Also if the Votes rejects the Change we are unable to send the REASON TEXT in the email.

Can you please let me know how can i get the Approval Votes Attributes in DB/Ui rule

Shiva

Re: Approval Votes - Approved status not in DB / UI rule.

Hi Shiva,

You can only use the approval result as a condition in rules; you cannot trigger on an individual vote.

What is it you are trying to do? Why do you need to do something when an individual vote has been made?

Re: Approval Votes - Approved status not in DB / UI rule.

Hi Ruth;

Thanks for your reply;

1 - We want to configure a rule that if one Approval Voters reject the approval then whole Change should get rejected.
Scenario - we have 5 member in voter list and the strategy 3 out of 5 and if one approval voter rejects then the approval should get rejected.
Thats is the reason we wanted have approval results individual

2 - Also once the Change is rejected the Reason text does not come in the email.

Re: Approval Votes - Approved status not in DB / UI rule.

Hi Shiva,

If you want to have approavls with something like:

Persons A and B must both say yes
2 of 3 of persons C, D,and E must say yes

The way to do it is to use work orders and have 1 work order which has approavl 2 out 2 for persons A and B

and another with 2 out of 3 for persons C,D and E.

If you want to ensure the approavls are done in a certain order you can make the WOs use predecessor/successor chain.

Hope this helps, Ruth

Hi Ruth;

Thanks for your reply.

Any clue on the 2nd question -

2. Also once the Change is rejected the Reason text does not come in the email notification.

Hi Shiva,

As far as I am aware you cannot get the Reason field into an email.
