Analyzed Data - Performance Impact

Greetings to all!

I was curious as to what is, if any, the performance impact of activating the "Update Analyzed Data when Items are Saved " option in the Report Settings part of the System Console.

At the moment, the option is unchecked.

We register and manipulate an average of 70,000 Service Calls per month with 550 simultaneous users. We run the SD application on three separate servers, two application sessions apiece, with load balancing.

Thanks in Advance for any help you can offer.

Re: Analyzed Data - Performance Impact

Hi,

first thing will be an increase in the DB size.

Second thing could be the effect on the DB when running reports against the analysed data - generally with a 3rd party tool.

Re: Analyzed Data - Performance Impact

Mark,

By 3rd party tool, do you mean somethng like Crystal Report?

In theory, we wouldn't be using that on Analyzed data.

One mor question, how long does the Analyzed Data stay available for?

Hi,

yes Crystal Reports. I think the Westbury product can work with Analysed data.

The data stays in the database until such time as you archive it (and the calls). Once archived you cannot get the data back into the database but it does gets archived to .xml.
