Amount of Organizations/Depts and CI SD can accomodate

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a limit to the amount of Organisation/Departments SD can add?
Or how many entries of Org/Dept can SD take?

Can it accomodate 300 entries and above?

For the CMDB, can it accomodate 6000+ and growing amount of configuration items in the application and database?

Would this depend on the hardware which SD is sitting on?

Can SD accomodate vast amount of data and constant growth of it?

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks!

Re: Amount of Organizations/Depts and CI SD can accomodate

Hi Amy,

There is no actual restriction on these but yes, you will need to ensure that your database is sized appropriately and that your hardware can support it.

We (Fox IT) have been involved in implementing HPSD on all sizes of customers from very small up to large multi-national. The important element is not the size but ensuring you have appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to support it all.

Hope this helps

Amy,

We have found that when you have a lot of organizations, and when "Search Caller Person in Organization Tree" is checked, that the performance when entering a caller in a service call becomes poor.
