Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

HI,

Q1 - When you open the CI form, do you see paperclip icon in the menu bar, you can use that to attach the files.

Q2 - You would have to configure the attachment server ( can be an ftp server running locally or remotely). The configuration of attachment server is available in System Settings.

Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

HI,

You would have to configure attachment server. Please have any ftp account created locally or remotely exclusively for handling service desk attachments. Enter the username/password and ftp server name in the System settings - > attachment settings (I am assuming you are using SD 5)

Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

Dear Hasim,

I am using SD 4.5. I do not have a FTP server running in our company.

Is it possible to use the SD server by creating a folder called d:\w_proof then redirecting all attachments there ... ?

Pls advice ... ?

Thanks,

Thiwanka.

Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

Hi Thiwanka,

Another solution could be to create a custom field for CI and fill it with a link to the jpg file on your network.
This way you have a link for each CI.

Hope this helps.

Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

Hi,

each record CI in this instance canhave an attachment. You can use the attachment icon (paper clip) on the form or drag and drop the saved .jpeg onto the CI form and it will attach its self.

Re: Adding an Attachment in CI ... !

hi!

The right way is to attach the screen shot to the CI.

What you have to do is, setup a FTP server (it can be on the same SD server too) Take help from your system people.

Then configure FTP in Tools->System->System Panel->Attachmnet Settings.

There you have to give the FTP server IP address and user name.

It is a very simple thing to do, don't worry...

Ashly
