5.1 and Notifications - Has it always been this stupid?

Hey everyone,

As I understand it, business rules that notify "a workgroup" can only notify the primary email address of that workgroup. I see no way to just notify the whole damn group, or even selected members.

Our consultant told us we could create a distribution list for every group (150+) and I only barely saved him from the wrath of our mail admins.

My questions are...
1) Is there something obvious I'm missing?
2) What in the blessed name of mercy is practical about the way they designed this?!?

Hi there,

Have you tried sending the email to:

[Assignment;To Workgroup;Members;Person;Primary E-Mail Address]

Hope this helps

Not sure if this works in 5.1 (It does with 4.5) but you can just send the email to the Assignment:To Workgroup and the app will go through the workgroup members and send to any that have an email adddress. I know in 5.1 you can have multiple email addresses for a person but I would assume that it would just use the primary one.
