5.0 new line in concatenate function

Hi everyone,

In 4.5 you could add a new line in a concatenate function inupdate data on a rule, by zooming the field and pressing Enter. This does not seem to work in version 5.

Does anyone know how you can do this in v5.0?

Re: 5.0 new line in concatenate function

Hello Ruth,

In SD 4.5 I used %line.separator% but this does not work in SD 5.0 either, instead of using the variable it just echoes it into the field while %OS% will work.

It is not described in the differences guide so I would say log a call to get it fixed.

As a workaround you could use "update from external system" to get the desired result.

Ruth,

I've had the same issue and also logged a call.

The odd thing is that it worked in both waves of beta2

Re: 5.0 new line in concatenate function

Hi Ruth,

I overcame this problem by defining a text 255 field and populating this via a template with a full stop and carriage return. Then in my concatenate rule I used this field whenever I needed to insert a carriage return.

Hope this is helpful
