ilo or RILOE 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP RH

Is there a way beyond physically checking out the machine to verify if a server is running ilo or RILOE? I have checked dmesg and other utilites, but I am not aware of any hpasm command to help me run a query to verify this information.

Any assistance would be grand.

Unless the 'hprsm' package is running there is no knowledge of that hardware from the host OS except in its raw state.

Re: ilo or RILOE 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP RH

Please install the "hprsm" package which is downloadable from HP web site.

The package name is "HP Lights out drivers and Agents".

For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0,the link is

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22882.html

Once this package is installed,

"lsmod" command will show "cpqci" or "cpqrid"
modules depending on if iLO or RILOE-II is
present on that system.
(iLO -cpqci,RILOE-II - cpqrid)

Another brute-force method is to use the lights-out migration utility and have it can scan a network range for iLOs and RILOEs.

It cannot tell a lot about the endpoints unless the user credentials are valid.

Re: ilo or RILOE 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP RH

Thanks for the replies, would hprsm be able to tell me the rev of firmware that runs on that device? Whether it be RILOE or iLO?

Re: ilo or RILOE 2.4.21-37.ELsmp #1 SMP RH

The HPONCFG(HP Online configuration utility)
can be used to get the firmware version of iLO/RILOE-II.
HPONCFG requires the hprsm package to be installed on the system.

HPONCFG utility is downloadble from the following web site for Linux.
