Is there a way to change BIOS settings from within Linux?

The specific setting I would like to change is the serial port speed used for console redirection. I've used to `hponcfg' utility to change iLO settings from within Linux, but if there is something similar for the BIOS, I have not been able to find it.

Sorry, this was completely off-topic for this forum. `Close thread' is the closest thing I can find to delete.
