I would suggest using the Dashboard in Quality Center. Create a new excel report and write a query using the TEST and DESSTEP tables. Try using this query to get you started, you may want to add or take out some info and format the output.
SELECT T.TS_NAME, T.TS_TEST_ID, T.TS_DESCRIPTION, T.TS_STEPS, S.DS_STEP_NAME, S.DS_DESCRIPTION, S.DS_EXPECTED FROM TEST T, DESSTEPS S WHERE T.TS_TEST_ID = S.DS_TEST_ID
you could also you the Document Generator under tools menu in Quality Center, but that will give you an word document.
Are you using the tool or query. If query you can change the conditions TS_TEST_ID<>DS_TEST_ID for cases not in DesignSteps table. You probably can use a UNION statement combining queries with WHERE conditions which pulls Test Cases with Steps (TESTID=DESIGN TEST ID) and without out
Thanks! That worked great. One more question. I tried adding T.TS_SUBJECT to get the folder structure. But the values being returned are numbers like 132,133. Is there something else I should be using to get the sorrect folder values returned?
small functionality with respect to end user requirement.Currently this tool is proving the functionality of exporting manual test cases(Bulk export) from Quality center to predefined excel file and download qtp result from QC to local drive
