ksc_copy_request fails to work with a project request

Hi colleagues,

We have an ITG 7.1 SP7 instance and we wanted to use the ksc_copy_request command on it to copy a project request to another request type. We have created a WF step for that and got the following result in the WF step log:

Workflow Step Source Execution - TEST2 Create Report
Request Type Test-Prj
Request 34040
Workflow TestWF
Workflow Step 53 - TEST2 Create Report
Started July 8, 2008 09:47:08 PM MSD

Beginning command: KSC Copy Request
Running PL/SQL procedure KCRT_REQUEST_UTIL.COPY_REQUEST
Summary of parameters:
FROM_REQUEST_ID=34040
REQUEST_TYPE_ID=30312
WORKFLOW_ID=30452
COPY_FIELDS=Y
COPY_NOTES=N
CREATE_REFERENCE=N
REFERENCE_RELATIONSHIP=CHILD OF THIS REQUEST
STATUS_NAME=
SUBMIT=Y
Request copied successfully with new ID = 0
The following Command Step is not subject to timing out: com.kintana.core.server.execution.CLSetCommand

Certainly, no new request was created (obviously, 0 is not a valid request_id). If any of you ever managed use ksc_copy_request successfully with project requests, we will be grateful for your comments.

Hi Boris !

You want create copy project to request or project to project ?

Best regards.

This is exactly how it works at the moment. However, with the built-in event, the business users have to make 3 actions:

1) choose the 'create new request' branch of the WF
=> goto create_request step

2) Execute the create_request step (it's always manual, the 'immediate' option is not available)
=> 'submit new request' window opens

3) Submit the new request
=> the new request is created

This sequence is confusing (to my business-users), and we wanted to reduce it to just 1 action using the new 7.1 command.

I have tried the command with different parameters and it looks like it can't copy a project request to another project request (an error message explicitely says that). However, what I need is merely:

project request -> common request (referenced as Child or Related)

Re: ksc_copy_request fails to work with a project request

Hi
This command can't copy a project request to another project request.It is possible to not try at all, since it does not support copying request with PFM-Project field groups:-(

I noticed that. However, I was not trying to copy a project request to a project request, I was trying to copy:
project request -> NON-project request

Do you mean, the command doesn't work if the SOURCE request has pfm fields or if the TARGET request has pfm fields? Or if ANY of them has pfm fields? Could you point me to the related documentation?

Hi Boris.
There is one more checked up decision of your problem.All should turn out quickly, automatically and for 1 operation. See file in Attachment.
Good luck
