dbms_sql.define_column issue in HP PPM Custom report

Hi Folks,

We are using HP PPM 7.5 SP7. We are using a DBMS inbuilt function dbms_sql.define_column to limit the size of each of the columns to 150 characters in the report.

Syntax: dbms_sql.define_column(cursor, i, array, 150)

Our report has 200 odd columns and based on the column number/index in array the column width is set. however, we have some data wherein it is showing more than allowed, i.e. report showing 580 characters for a particular field even if the column width is specified as 150 characters.

Please help us on this even if this is not related totally on HP PPM, DB related resources can assist us in getting this done.

Re: dbms_sql.define_column issue in HP PPM Custom report

Hi,

Is this a JSP custom report?

Or a PL/SQL custom report?

Regards

Re: dbms_sql.define_column issue in HP PPM Custom report

Hi Phil,

the report is a Custom PL/SQL Report and we are facing this issue even after compiling the package which includes this function to define column size as 150 for all coluns available on report except one column which is for 600.

the issue is that columns are now showing data as if their column size is set as 600 instead of 150 which is default.
