Workflow - Different buttons for different security groups

Hi Experts,

I understand that for a particular step and actions/decisions from that step, can be given to specific security group/users. But it is specific to that step. I have a requirement, where i need to show some action buttons (decisions) for one security group and rest visible for other security group?

How can I achieve this.

Thanks

Sakthi

Re: Workflow - Different buttons for different security groups

All,

I have tried with various entities and came up with some solution for this. The helper here is the ACL.

That does the trick.

Thanks

Re: Workflow - Different buttons for different security groups

Hi Mohit and Shiju,

Here are the steps

1. Create some validation - drop-down list with say values A, B, C

2. Create some validation - auto-complete list with sql-custom as option.

Write sql query to select the values from the above drop-down bya ccessing knta_lookup table, and select based on the user who had logged in through SYS.USER_ID and checking the security group (knta_users_security_v)...

3. In workflow, use this Auto-Complete List as the validation

4. Based on the user logged in, only those decision-steps will be visible.

Thats it, done. Still have questions, please let me know.

Thanks

Sakthi.

Re: Workflow - Different buttons for different security groups

Hi Sakthi,

This seems to be a good logic.

Can you pelaborate on step two where you create the validation with auto complete list as an option?

I did create a Auto complete validation and wrote a query to select the list of values from the drop down list. However, I am wonering on how to match the security group with the SYS.USER_ID within the query!

Thanks,
