Unexpected error - after upgrade to 9.14

Hi,

We upgrade our PPM dev environment from 7.1 to 9.14.0006 recently.

After the upgrade, when we examined the log, we saw the error message "ORA-01403: no data found {KWFL_WORKFLOW_ENGINE-8110} (KNTA-10498)"

Please find the full description in the attachment.

FYI: when we checked the WF step, it seems the indicated step is an decsion step.

Thanks,

Roopesh

Re: Unexpected error - after upgrade to 9.14

HI,

I found we have seen this issue in the past caused by deleting a Request without deleting the Request`s workflow instance so it does not look related to the task window issue or might be caused due to a different reason.
In order to confirm if that could be the root cause,  run the below query to determine which workflows are still running without Requests. The following SQL may take long time to run:

SELECT *
FROM kwfl_workflow_instances
WHERE top_instance_source_type_code = 'IR'
AND top_instance_source_set_id IN( SELECT instance_source_set_id FROM kwfl_pending_step_timeouts_v WHERE instance_source_type_code = 'IR'
AND instance_source_set_id NOT IN( SELECT request_id FROM kcrt_requests ));

The query below will delete the workflow instances that have no requests, and should fix this issue. Alternately, you can mark the status of the workflow_intance_id rows to "CLOSED" and set the CURRENT_FLAG to 'N'.

***Important: Backup this table before running delete command.

DELETE FROM kwfl_workflow_instances
WHERE workflow_instance_id IN( results from the 1st query sent)

Best regards,
Randall
