Unable to save requests

Hi,

we are having an issue with requests, where we click the 'Save' button nothing happens. i.e. when we click on Save button it gets greyed out and nothing happens.

We are facing this issue for old requests, we are not facing this problem for new requests.

I have attached the logs

Can some one help me on this please.

Many times when things like this happen it is caused by an error in a request type rule which causes the javascript on the page to stop executing. Do you see any javascript errors (in IE, a little 'caution' icon in the bottom left corner of the browser) when you load one of these requests?

Yes, there is a error in IE.

Then I would certainly double-check your rules, especially if any of the validations have changed.

We are facing this issue only with few old requests.

I have attached the screen shots of the rules for the request we are facing problem.

Sam,
Move the RT to your Testing environment and see whether you are facing the same issue there also, If you face the same issue, Disable all the rules and enable one by one and narrow down to the exact rule which throws this error.

I disabled all the rules and enabled one by one and tried to save the request, even now I am facing the same problem.

Sam,
When you disable all the rules then also you are getting this error?

Disable all the rules and check up and let me know.

Hi Mahendran,

Even after disabling all the rules I am getting this error.

I found one issue here, recently we have added 3 new fields to request type, and for few old requests one of this new field is missing.

Have you recently deleted a existing field?

And added a new field in that place?

We have not deleted any field, but we have renamed 2 existing fields and added 3 new fields.

We are unable to see this field only for the requests that we are facing problem, for other request we get all the fields.

Then I hope it is the requests in some specific status.... check up the status of the requests with this Problem.

Whether the missing field is visible in all the statuses?

Disable that particular field and see whether the requests function well. If it functions well then check the validation of that field.

Hi Mahendran,

I checked the status of all the requests with this problem, they are in different steps.

Also, I noticed the follwoing
For example in my request 'Field A' is missing, now from Layout tab I changed the postion of 'Field A', then some other field say 'Field C' is missing. This is happening only with the 5 fields.

Sam,
I would like to see this interesting problem, but I am not able to see it... Please set up a webex call with HP Support and show them this.

Kindly advice me once you fixed this.

Hi Mahendran,

Got the issues. One of the field was having speial characters #@#, which was not supported by that field.
Removing the special characters solved the issue.

It is the delimiting character of a multi-select field, Glad that your issue is resolved.
