getting the below error:

ORA-06512: at "KNTA.KWFL_STEP_TRANS_NLS_RC", line 23
ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'KNTA.KWFL_STEP_TRANS_NLS_RC'
ORA-06512: at "KNTA.KWFL_STEP_TRANSITIONS_TRIG", line 11
ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'KNTA.KWFL_STEP_TRANSITIONS_TRIG' {KWFL_STEP_TRANSITIONS_TH-300} (KNTA-10498)

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Akif

Re: Unable to Create/Modify Workflow after upgrading to PPM 8.0

Hi, Akif,

your error is strictly related to Oracle, in terms that it is unable to allocate extra shared memory: ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4096 bytes of shared memory ("java pool","unknown object","joxs heap","Intern").

Check with your DBA/SysAdmin to increase Oracle memory parameters, especially the java pool size which is creating your problem.

Solution

Re: Unable to Create/Modify Workflow after upgrading to PPM 8.0

Hi Akif,

The Cause of Issue is "More shared memory is needed than was allocated in the shared pool".

Resolution would be "Either use the dbms_shared_pool package to pin large packages, which would reduce your use of shared memory, or increase the amount of available shared memory by increasing the value of the
init.ora parameter "shared_pool_size".

Try to ask DBA's to check the dynamic view V$SHARED_POOL_RESERVED and determine whether its lack of memory or fragmentation. ORA-04031 error can be due to either an inadequeate sizing of the SHARED POOL size or due to heavy fragmentation leading the database to not finding large enough chuncks of memory.

Maybe ALTER SYSTEM FLUSH SHARED_POOL can solve your problem shortly but not consistently.

It's DBA's job not you!

@Celil:

Akif's problem is related to the java pool, not the shared pool!
