Recieving Direct Manager:has invalid input or the input has more than one match, when we change the Direct Manager of the user and click on Save, under Search -> Resources.

How does the Direct Manager field get populated , do we have any validation, can anybody share the validation name
Usually this values are populated from the user IDs which poesses PM licenses. SoYou can check on the user profile if he has the PM license to which makes the eligiblity to come out on that list.
you could have a look on RSC - Resource Managers also for the same
the one time that I ran into this issue it was that the Direct Manager had a user that another administrator disabled, when you add the direct manager to the user profile are you searching for them or are you inputting it manually?
