Tokens and what they contains

Hello,

I don't know ow to use tokens.

Is there any way how to see what does token contain?

How can I test for example notification email with tokens without sending this notification? When I use Token Builder I create e.g. [REQ.PROJECT_NAME] or [REQ.DESCRIPTION] tokens. But I'm not sure which value is in this tokens. So how can I test content of the token? Is there any way?

I didn't realize how to do it from documentation. Thanks for your help.

Re: Tokens and what they contains

Hi, to test a value in a token you can:
- create a UI rule,
example:
event: apply on the page load
UI rule
showMessage([TOKEN])

- create a SQL rule to load a specific field with a token
example:
event: apply on the page load
dependency: field that you get value (field1)
Result: field with the value of dependency (field2)
SQL rule
SELECT '[REQD.P.FIELD1]', '[REQD.P.FIELD1]' FROM dual

Regards.

Re: Tokens and what they contains

Thanks a lot Edtroleis. I used showMessage() and it works.

Only small question now. In second option - SQL rule
SELECT '[REQD.P.FIELD1]', '[REQD.P.FIELD1]' FROM dual

Is this OK with [REQD.P.FIELD1] two times written?

Yes, because you must fill the parameter and the visible parameter of the field.
