Timesheets - removing mandatory field from search?

HI All

We we upgraded from v7.1 sp8 to v7.1 sp10 - and this has introduced a new mandatory field I'd like to make non-mandatory.

When a resource created a timesheets and selects 'add items' and then 'add project/task' they get a pop up asking for some project information (screenshot attached) - we've never had to enter in a project here before, and instead us the orange search bar which brings up all activities for that resource.

Is there anyway to make this field non-mandatory so we can just use the orange box to find all tasks?

I hope there is a Request Type called 'TMG Configurable Filters', You have to make the status dependencies as shown in the snap.

I can find the request - but oddly, its not a mandatory field in the request type!

I fear its now intergrated with the search option - do you know where i'd be able to see what the criteria is for the search when you use the orange box?
