Spawning a project from within another project

Hi,

does anyone have experience in using the ksc_create_project command from within a project's workflow?

We have project model where a pre-study (using project entity) is created between proposal and project.

However I am having difficulties spawning the project from the pre-study-projectentity.

Is this only possible from a proposal?

Do you get any error when you try to spawn the project? It shouldn't be dependent on the proposal request. Can you provide some information on the error/issue you encounter?

Re: Spawning a project from within another project

Well I just managed to make it work out.

There were two mandatory parameters needed as below.

ksc_create_project PROJECT_NAME="testing" PROJECT_TYPE_NAME="Projects" REGION_ID="30000"

However I noticed that the Financial Summary entities that have replaced budgets are not shared. A new financial summary is created.

I suppose two projects can not share a financial summary?

Hi Cenk.
I reccomend any rules for creating any request from another:
1.equal field types
2.equal tokens
3.equal parameters

The best examle of this from standard box is link between propossal->project->assets.
Good Luck

Re: Spawning a project from within another project

Well equal token is not enough as in regular field replication. A new Financial Summary is created anyways.

It seems it is designed only to allow 1 proposal/project/asset share financial summary.

Unless anyone can prove otherwise?
