Setting a dynamic date as default in report filter field.

We have a requirement wherein the current year needs to be shown as a Default value in a report filter field.

Does anyone have any idea as to how we can accomplish this?

May be this:
create apply an creation rule for date field and SQL:
SELECT
round(SysDate,'y'),trunc(SysDate,'y')
FROM Dual

Can we create a rule for a filter field in a report type? I am not sure on this.

Is there any other way we can set a default value in the filter field in a report type?

Re: Setting a dynamic date as default in report filter field.

one but not good variant:
In this field you can set default value by manualy selecting date for example 01/01/2010, in next year you change this default date to 01/01/2011.
It's be working but automaticly.
Good Luck

Re: Setting a dynamic date as default in report filter field.

I could have done it but the user does not want to always enter something into the date field and this field is a required field. When the create report page is opened then this field should show the current year e.g., 2010 for this year. If the user does not enter anything then this value will be automatically passed to the underlying report sql.

Assuming the report is a SQL script, why not just handle it there? If no value is passed from PPM, assume current year...
