SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

After we upgraded from PPM 7.1 SP8 to 7.5 SP3 all code deployments fail due to the error message "The error message is "ERROR: java.io.IOException: All SSH authentication methods failed. Check the Key Identity file or password. (KNTA-10903)". After researching the error further, there the destination server is reporting the error "RSA_public_decrypt failed: error:0407006A:lib(4):func(112):reason(106)". which basically means a public key miss match.

All connections are fine when attempted from a command line (Solaris 10), but all fail when attempted from PPM. Both are setup to use the same keys. This has occured with the three test environments that we have upgraded to 7.5, so we know that it is not environment specific. We have had a critical ticket opened with HP for over three weeks, and they have not found anything yet.

Are there any users out there that can help us out?

Thanks.

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

Scott, what version of Java did you go to when you upgraded to 7.5?

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

When we upgraded to 7.5, we had to upgrade ssh to get it to work. The 7.5 System Requirements and Compatibility Matrix calls for OpenSSH 4.1. We had been running OpenSSH 3.8 with PPM 6.0. After upgrading to OpenSSH 5.0, the problem was resolved.

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

Jim,

Thanks. Did you have to upgrade the SSH only on the PPM applciation servers or did you also have to update the destination servers?

Thanks,

Scott

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

We upgraded ssh only on the PPM application server and everything worked fine.

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

Thanks. I've now confirmed without a doubt that our version of SSH is the supported version listed in the manual (we use Sun SSH on Solaris 10).

Are there any other suggestions?

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

Scott,

How did you resolve this issue? We have similar issue and we found that ppm username has expired in destination environment.

Re: SSH Fails after 7.5 Upgrade

Hi Scott,
How did you resolve this issue. I have a fresh version 8.0 installed and am unable to connect via PPM. The error message is same as yours.
When attempted from command line, all connections work.
