Request Type Execution

When executing a given step in a PPM Request that executes a DB procedure PPM is refreshing too quick and coming to an execution override step since the db procedure is still running, so you have to keep refreshing the page until it suceeds or fails.

I thought there was a server.conf parameter to tell PPM to wait until the execution was completely done before coming back for user action. Does anyone know what this is? I cannot find it anywhere or have another solution.

Re: Request Type Execution

Hi,

I think this 2 parameters helps.

WF_TIMEOUT_REAPER_INTERVAL determines the frequency (in seconds)
with which the service checks for information (if TURN_ON_WF_TIMEOUT_
REAPER = true).

TURN_ON_WF_TIMEOUT_REAPER turns on the timeout reaper, which scans all
active workflow steps to verify that they have timed out according to the
settings for the step.

Thanks

Re: Request Type Execution

Can you use the 'Finish Execution before displaying the request page to the user' radio button? It's in the 'Page Response' section on the Execution tab of the validation.

Re: Request Type Execution

Yes 'Finish Execution before displaying the request page to the user' radio button is the correct area.

But if you hit the re-fresh screen when the clock revolves then you can see the 'Override' buttons.

I hope you will not give the End User Security group to execution step.

Re: Request Type Execution

Unless you know of another way. The only place that radio button exists is in Request Type commands, the option doesn't exist in WF execution steps.

Re: Request Type Execution

Hmmmm, maybe it depends on the validation? Because we have a workflow step execution that has that option. I am attaching a screen shot.

Re: Request Type Execution

This Page Response appears only when Workflow Scope is 'Requests'

Re: Request Type Execution

I was just in the process updating this ticket with that info. The WF Execution step has to be set for requests and then that option is there.

Thanks everyone.
