Problem in PPM 9.14 if username contains " ' " in lastname!!

Hi,

We migrated to PPM 9.14.0006 a month back and from then we are facing issue for the users who has " ' " in their lastname / firstname. The users are unable to create requests because of the below error:

The user name is BOURDEAUD'HUI, Luc.

Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to solve this?

I checked KNTA_USERS and in there it is displaying properly.

Thanks,

Roopesh

Re: Problem in PPM 9.14 if username contains " ' " in lastname!!

Hi,

This is a forward looking solution.

We've upgraded dev and uat to 9.21 and i'm in testing mode.I've tested with having a ' in both the last name and first name and i can create requests succesfully.I know this is not the solution you're looking for but it helps to know this is not a problem in 9.21.I didnt not test in 9.14.

Goodluck.

Re: Problem in PPM 9.14 if username contains " ' " in lastname!!

Hi,

The rule 2 is used to fill 'Requestor:' filed with the value of 'Created BY:' and the rule runs on creation.

The sql used is:

SELECT '[REQ.CREATED_BY]',
 '[REQ.CREATED_BY_NAME]'
FROM DUAL

And unfortunately the upgrade to 9.21 is not seen in the near future, so we have to work in 9.14 for some time..

Thanks,

Roopesh

Re: Problem in PPM 9.14 if username contains " ' " in lastname!!

We had a similar problem sometime ago.Try this and  let me know.

------

I had a problem where project names had an apostrophe in the name. For e.g. ‘Andre’s Project’

That alone caused issues when trying to use that name even as a token. Replace(), TRIM(), or TRANSLATE() did not work.

I found a function that tells oracle there is a quote in the value being used:

q'|[REQ.VP.KNTA_MASTER_PROJ_REF]|'

That is a the example I am currently using. I had to use the visible token to build a description for the request. Otherwise I would have used the hidden token.

Instead of using a token as ‘[TOKEN_HERE]’ you add q’|[TOKEN_HERE]|’

It will be resolved as q’|Andre’s Project|’ when executed and return the apostrophe in the output.

If you don’t want the apostrophe, then you can use functions such as REPLACE(),TRIM() and TRANSLATE() to remove it.

Hi,
Its working. Is it a permanent solution or it is just a temporary fix?
