Priority İmage in validation

Hello,

I am using a portlet which shows priority requests. High priorty requests are shown with the exlamation mark.gif which is stored with a link and we can manage high priorty requests by inserting to <!--HTML--> <img src="http://10.34.1.58:8080/itg/images/pm/red_priority.gif"> a visible_parameter.

This parameter is not used any request type field, it is only for portlet view sql.

I want to create a field whose visible_parameter or parameter is equal to <!--HTML--> <img src="http://10.34.1.58:8080/itg/images/pm/red_priority.gif"> and other parameter is HIGHPRIORTY.

In other words, i don't want to manage priority Icon in sql database, how can I manage this icon in PPM interface.

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Not sure what you are asking for. Are you wanting to show this gif on the request form?

Yes Eric, I want to show this gif in request form. Users can see this gif in request forms.

Hi, bugra,

please check the attached screenshot - it's pretty much self-explanatory and let us know if it worked.

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Hello Alex,

That's what I want, thank you. But I want a little different, my default value have to be null (or another new icon which shows not prior). and my second value is this high priorty icon. All requests are created null priority icon, not the high priority.

Also, when I changed my field same as the screenshot. PPM gives error like this.My field storage is Parameter27, thats why P_27 is written here.

The P_27 parameter is malformed

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Hello, bugra,

you have not attached the screenshot.

As to when the value is populated, the decision of when to populate the field with the proper is up to you - you can populate it via a request type rule or automatic step. I only set it up as a default value for you to see what value must be there in the field.

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Hello Alex,

I uploaded screenshots of this error and field. I deleted this field and recreate both field and validation, but it's still same. If i can do this, I understand how to manage with rules.

Thank you for helping,

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Hello, bugra,

- what PPM version are you using?

- can you try using the OOTB validation Text Area?

- can you paste the URL for the gif file in the browser to check if the file is accessible?

- try to use relative path as in my example.

Please let me know if it works - this looks like an interesting issue, since I haven't had this issue so far.

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Thank you alex ,
I solved this problem. The problem is I didn't do read only field. If field is editible, then ppm gives malformed error.

I have new question for this, can i show this icon in request list portlet ?

Re: Priority İmage in validation

Hello, bugra,

You can show the image in portlets - follow the same logic but be sure you select html when you define the column in the portlet definition.

Let me know if this helps.
