Ppm add a line to timesheet from the outside.

Hi every body in our company we are using PPM 8.0 and we want to do something like this.

We have a timesheet item which name is INCIDENT.
We want to add this item every users timesheet by default.

After that we want to manuelly integrate to a service or database job etc to load this weekly data from the outside.

In briefly can we import data to the user timesheets from the outside source.

Re: Ppm add a line to timesheet from the outside.

Hi,

PPM does not have an option to force/default a workitem for every new timesheet. Currently this is not possible; users have to manually add their workitems to timesheets.

There is a XML import utility that allows you to import* timesheets from outside PPM.

This tool is owned and distributed by HP professional services (Consultants) and not exactly by regular PPM Support.

This could help you to satisfied most of the requirement...  but only way to get this tool is via an extra consulting service.

On regards the XML Import, the process works like this:

HP PSO consultant gives you a template file so you can start filling in the Time data. After this they generate the XML file and the import runs and uploads the information into PPM.

Other option to think about is using Web services.  There is web service to add timesheet lines, which is very limited.

Like updating one timesheet, for one resource.... at the time...

Not sure if creating a custom TM  web service could help.
