Parameter for limitations of the porlets

Hey,

It is wanted to see more than 500 records in the portlet when it is maximized. Is there a parameter for this where I can set the limits?

Thanks in advance,

Sev

Re: Parameter for limitations of the porlets

Hello Sev,

The parameter PORTLET_MAX_ROWS_RETURNED in server.conf file can be manipulated to change the limit.

There is no documented maximum value, however recommendation is to either keep it to default or slight variation in default value since it degrades the server performance afer increasing. It impacts the Dashboard's loading time as well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Re: Parameter for limitations of the porlets

There's another option here: rather than alter the configuration parameter setting (as already described in this thread) you can include a GROUP BY clause in the portlet's data source. Can't tell you why doing so returns all rows, but it does "override" the 500-row limit.

Obviously, this will work for portlets using custom data sources only...

And, beware of doing so if the data source feeds a "Child" pivot table portlet (triggered through the Parent/Child portlet communication function)... I've encountered "row count" discrepancies that I've yet to get to the bottom of...
