PPMC 9.12 - Can HTTPS be configured on internal web server?

Hi,

We are upgrading from 8.03 to 9.12 on LINUX. In our existing setup we are using Apache external web serevr for enabling https.

In 9.12 version, is it possible to use the internal web server to configure HTTPS thereby retiring external web server.

Thanks,
Kiran Parab

Re: PPMC 9.12 - Can HTTPS be configured on internal web server?

hi,

i checked ppm 9 guides to be sure, i configured in ppm 8 there is a secure web logon thing you can do within ppm but not whole https traffic. with that way only logon page will be in https not other pages. if you are going to configure https with jboss, you need to modify application files which is not supported.

if configuring https on logon page due to security issues in your organization, you can check secure web logon in installation guilde, if you need whole https traffic external web server must.

Hi Kerim,

You are right. Internal web server can be used only to secure the logon page.

So we integrated with an external web serever (apache) and now all our pages are secured.

Thanks for your reply.

Kiran
