It is the fisrt time to install PPM8.0. Now the server seems up. But when I click Open->Administration->Open Workbench or Open Workbench on Desktop, get below errors: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.kintana.core.gui.LogonApplet.loadInstalledLanguages(LogonApplet.java:229) at com.kintana.core.gui.LogonApplet.init(LogonApplet.java:289) at com.kintana.core.gui.LogonApplet.main(LogonApplet.java:1064) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeApplication(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.executeMainClass(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.doLaunchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
After the upgrade to release 8 I could not open the wb either, don't remember though if it was this error message. Go to the windows contrl panel, chose Java and remove temporary internet files (this is not the same as in IE); after doing so I could open the workbench on my machine again.
It could be that it happens when the BASE_URL in the server.conf-file under is either malformed or not available. PPM hosts part of the language configuration information at http://:/itg/html/client/mlu.conf Make sure that you can access that URL for the instance from the client box.
If you are able to open the workbench from server then it's the issue with Client Environment.
Check if -> RMI Port is open -> Try to access the RMI url directly from the browser and see the results -> Correct Java version is installed -> Do you see any error messages in Server Log file at the time of Server Startup. -> If you are using Cluster Configuration, then all the nodes are started?
Also have you installed any other language in the system?
