PPM v.9.2 problems on UI experimented by IE browser, after migration

Hello,

does someone has some suggestions about the blocking problem we're experimenting immediatli after the PPM migration from v.9.14 to 9.22 with some PC having as Browser IE8???

The blocking problem, while trying to retrieve e request os saving it is: "HTML
Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child
element is closed (KB927917)
"

Doing the same operation on the same PC using Chrome, the PPM system...is working well (as usual!)

thanks a lot

Re: PPM v.9.2 problems on UI experimented by IE browser, after migration

Hi Marco,

This is a known issue (QCCR1L53975) that has been already fixed in PPM 9.22.0001.

Please upgrade to either 9.22.0001 or (preferrably) 9.22.0002 to fix the problem.

Note that upgrade to patch releases (i.e. from 9.22 to 9.22.0002 for example) should be considered low risk upgrades, and HP strongly encourages customers to stick to the latest released patch version whenever possible. New patches are usually released every other month, and do not typically contain any new feature nor significant code changes besides hotfixes that have already been delivered to other customers and tested in production.

Kind Regards,

Etienne.

Re: PPM v.9.2 problems on UI experimented by IE browser, after migration

Hello,

thanks for quick reply. Unfortunatly...I was already on 9.22.2, that is: after migration to 9.2 I applied the latest available fix (as you correcly recomend).

Sorry for my inaccuracy about the PPM version. I'm on 9.22.2

Hi Marco,

You may want to open a support case with HP then. This looks like a defect.

Hi Marco,

if you experince this problem with IE8 in Win XP, it could be an issue known to web developers: users should apply an IE8 fix that you can find in

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23606

For more details you can see

http://blog.ilmuit.com/zainal/2011/11/26/ie8-html-parsing-error-unable-to-modify-the-parent-container-element-before-the-child-element-is-closed/

Best regards

Hello Andrea,

great!

It seems that your suggestion is good. I read the infos and applied the fix. The problem is no more existing.

Thanks a lot.
