Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

The document says

"9) Launch your Internet Browser and type http://localhost:8080 into address window. You should see the content of www.hp.com shown up in your browser"

but as soon as I enter 'http://localhost:8080' in my browser, the address changes to 'http://18.12.(IPAddress)/'

And the sceen becomes white, not suew why I am not able to see the contents of 'www.hp.com'.

Please Help.

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Mahendran,

Where did you get this Webservices Lab. I have been looking for some good documentation on how to do Webservices other than the guide and kit that comes with PPM. Is this something you can share with me or point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Please ask HP Support, They can send you the Lab materials.
Ask them the whole Webservice Toolkit.

Thank you.

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Can you please elaborate at all on what the hands on lab consists of. I asked HP support and all the keep doing it pointing me to the toolkit. Is the lab you are refering to something different than the standard toolskit?

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Inside the standard toolkit... There is a folder called 'Lab'

The first document is attached for you.
Thanks

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Mahendran,

Maybe I am missing something, but I downloaded my toolkit again from my PPM instance and there is no folder called Lab. Are you using the standard toolkit that can be downloaded from within any PPM instance or do you have something special? I noticed the document says a PPM 7.1 GA instance. Not sure what GA stands for.

Thanks.

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Mahendran,

In your kit under /java/client do you have a classes folder? Mine only has a /src directory so the first few steps right away are failing because I can't run the compile_client.bat because it can't find files.

C:\WEB_SE~1\java\bin>compile_client.bat

C:\WEB_SE~1\java\client\src\examples\dm\DemandServiceClient.java:34: error while
writing examples.dm.DemandServiceClient: C:\WEB_SE~1\java\bin\..\client\classes

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Mahendra,

I have walked through the entire guide you sent me. However, from your first post about your tcpmon error to the full guide you sent me seem to differ a bit. For example, in your first "error" guide there is a download link, in the full guide you sent me there isn't.

Anyway, if you download the tcpmon jar file from any website. I placed mine on my desktop. Then just double click the jar file and tcpmon should open. The java command you are seeing is if you download the binararies and have to compile.

I got mine from here https://tcpmon.dev.java.net/ and downloaded the second option. V 1.1

I am totally new to this webservices, Yes I have class files under source.

And the compile client compiles the java files.

Re: PPM Web Service Hands On Lab Questions

Mahendran,

Is there any way you could please send me all the labs to e.silverstein@verizon.net. I am brand new to all of this also and the first lab yesterday was extremely helpful. Maybe if I get to the lab where you got stuck I could provide assistance.
