PPM Server log rotate parameter.

Is there any parameter which stop appending server log messages after certain size and create a new server log file with keeping old server log file as backup.

Please help.

Re: PPM Server log rotate parameter.

Hi VarunS

in the /conf directory, logging.conf file, with "com.kintana.core.logging.ROTATE_LOG_SIZE" parameter.

Here is the description of parameter:
# Rotate log size
# Kintana server logs will be rotated when they reach this size.
# The size is specified in either Kilobytes or Megabytes by
# appending "KB" or "MB" to the number.
#
com.kintana.core.logging.ROTATE_LOG_SIZE = 250KB

You could find all other information about logging in "PPMx.xx_InstallationAdmin.pdf" documant in "System Logging in PPM Center" chapter

good luck,

Re: PPM Server log rotate parameter.

Also, to create backup logs you would require to add this parameter in the logging.conf
com.kintana.core.logging.MAX_BACKUP_INDEX=2

Thanks

Re: PPM Server log rotate parameter.

Varun,

Not sure which version you are referring to? But I noticed it in PPM 9.1 SP1, after applying service pack 2, the rotate behavior was back to its original.
