PPM Package - Assigned Users and Groups unable to cancel package lines.

We are having some issues with users unable to cancel package lines even though they are either directly assigned to the package, or their security group is assigned. The creator of the package has no issue canceling package lines.

Are we correct in our assumption that only the creator of the package has "Cancel" privileges (Package -> Cancel Package Line)?

Please review the screen shot attached.

Thank you in advance for any comments.

Re: PPM Package - Assigned Users and Groups unable to cancel package lines.

Neil,

Packages -> Cancel Package Line : This would be available to the users IFF the user has Manage Packages(Edit All Packages) access grant. If the user does not have the access grant he may not see the option. Please verify the access for the users.

Re: PPM Package - Assigned Users and Groups unable to cancel package lines.

Thank you for your response. Even though this method works, we have decided to not give the users the edit "all" packages access grant because we need to limit them in only editing certain packages. It seems odd to me that the edit packages access grant allows users to edit packages they are assigned to but not cancel lines. It seems like a flaw in design to me.

Re: PPM Package - Assigned Users and Groups unable to cancel package lines.

We solved this problem by adding a Cancel workflow step to the workflows. It is enabled when the package line is submitted and is available to the appropriate security groups for the life of the package line. When clicked, it transitions to a Closed - Cancelled step. We also put a timeout on the step with the same transition so package lines don't stay open forever.
