Re: PPM : Getting error while connecting to PPM server

Hi Mandy,

I just installed PPM 8.0 yesterday and got the same issue as you. What I did was to recompile JSPs.

Go to command line an run the kJSPCompiler.sh script, I did it few times, after that I was able to log access PPM without troubles.

Re: PPM : Getting error while connecting to PPM server

Hi Cesar,

It worked for PPM 8.0. I am now having another PPM 7.1 instance which I upgrade it to 7.5.

After successful upgrading it is again displaying the same error.

I've tried to run the kJSPCompile.sh file through cygwin but it is displaying following error:

:command not foundline : 1
:command not foundline : 25
:No such file or directory ./kVariables.sh

Also, the PPM service (/bin/ksvc.exe) is getting stopped after every 5 minutes.

I am also attaching error snapshot.

Please advise waht to do now?

Cheers,
Mandy

Re: PPM : Getting error while connecting to PPM server

Hi Mandeep,

This error mean that the JVM is not yet started or the Heap is not initialize.

Can you tell me on which OS you have installed the PPM, and also provide me the Logs while starting the PPM server.

Thanks,
James

Hi Mandy,

I found this which might help you.

Example of error:

\Kintana\bin>sh kStatus.sh

E:\Kintana\bin>sh kStatus.sh
./kVariables.sh: line 34: $'\r': command not found
./kVariables.sh: line 36: $'\r': command not found
./kVariables.sh: line 40: $'\r': command not found

'/kVariables.sh: line 69: `get_valid_server_directory() {
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/kintana/core/server/tools/CheckStatus

Cause

Characters in the files are not translated properly.

Fix

1) Unistall Cygwin and install with the "dos-text format" option (one of the two options when installing Cygwin)

2) Run the DOS-to-UNIX command on the sh files under the PPM_HOME/bin directory to translate the files in to UNIX format: d2u *.sh
