PPM Database upgrade from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.4

Hi,

We are planning to do PPM upgrade. Normal approach of database upgrade would be to upgrade it from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.4. but in case we go for fresh database creation of 10.2.0.4, can we simply do import & export of data onto new database instance? which other things needs to be taken care? Please suggest. is there any documentation on this approach?

Also, we have E-Business Suite and Oracle Technoloy extension installed on the instance. so how Object migrators and GL migrators can be migrated to new database instance?

what else needs to be taken care? Please advise.

Thanks, Vinod

Hi Vinod,

I think you have to take it very careful, I recommend to hire a DBA for this.

Vinod,
You haven't specify your PPM version.
No matter what version ,first of all, make sure PPM version supports the DB version.
You can find the DB details in the PPM Release notes.

Vinod,

Oracle 10.2.0.4 import utililty has a bug that prevents the importing of the BLOB data type. You will need to use the import utility from version 10.2.0.5.

We spent 3 weeks going between HP and Oracle to find this out.
