Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Look under the /utilities/webservice directory.

7.1 has it, but 7.5 does not for some reason.

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Is it possible to implement webservices with siteminder integration in PPM 7.1 sp5 or else
is it possible to disable authentication (whether it is siteminder or anything)

Thanks

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Yes its possible to disable authentication

For webservices its not a good idea to keep authentication unless you are using products like SOA Governance.

to disable the authentication you need modify the following files

1.axis2.xml
2.client_axis2

"False" the basic authentication parameters.

Use the guide i sent you in the morning.

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Hi rallabandi,

Thanks for your response.

The files that you have specified is located in PPM server (in WEB-INF/conf),right?

one is axis2.xml and another is what?

and one more important question is you have given attachment for 7.5 version.Whether we can disable authentication in 7.1 sp5 and use whatever the username and password in our client code.

If possible can you provide me sample client code for this authentication logic?

Thanks

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

and one more point is in the axis2.xml on our server, the parameter for "InflowSecurity" is not commented. So iam assuming that WF security has been enabled in my server. So, if we have WS security, then
how can I declare this in my client code?

Thanks

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

I have executed client code with below command.

java -Dclient.repository.dir=s:\java\bin -classpath %CPATH% examples.dm.DemandServiceClient https:///itg/ppmservices/DemandService

But it is giving error
"INFO: Redirect requested but followRedirects is disabled
Exception in thread "main" org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: HTTP Transport error : '3
02' - 'Moved Temporarily'; nested exception is:
org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: HTTP Transport error : '302' - 'Moved Tempor
arily'; nested exception is:.."

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Hi Shravan,

Another point By default InflowSecurity is enabled. Ask your administrator to set to false. Since this will be only used by webservice. there won't be any impact.

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host closed connection during handshake

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Hi Mahendran,

we have authentication mode a "ITG,Siteminder" both in server.conf file
and WEB_SERVICES_ENABLED=true.

Is the problem because of siteminder?

Please help me how to resolve this issue?

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Shravan,
I am not a expert in WS, I am a learner.... I am sorry, I cannot help you much on this and I have not saw this error before.

I have some Questions in Webservice through Siteminder, I don't want to create more number of replies to this WS thread, Can you help me offline? Can you give me your Email ID or can you send a mail to 'Mahendran.m@Rediffmail.com'?

Thanks in Advance?

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Hi Shravan/Charles/Rallabandi,

Can you please share some of your java code of the web services that go through SiteMinder authentication?

I am pretty new to the JAVA code, I tried understanding the examples of the tool kit to update the PPM objects.

I am successful in updating PPM using web services using NTLM authentication and PPM authentication, but am stuck with SiteMinder authentication, am not able to get on how to make the user authenticated with SiteMinder.

Can you please share some code, it will help me get some idea.

Thanks a Lot.

Re: PPM 7.1 SP5 Webservices

Hi

You will need to do http post request (do a google search for the basics) to the siteminder server passing the parameters, you should be able to see this from the view source on the SSO login screen.

If you need more help let me know.

Charles
