Need help with a rule that should default a field to the current date

I have a field in a table vaidation that needs to be defaulted to the current date when a line is added to the table. I would have expected the SQL of "select [sys.date], [sys.date] from dual" to work, but the date that is populated is jumbled.

Does anyone have any suggestions. We are using PPM 7.5.

Thanks,

Scott

Re: Need help with a rule that should default a field to the current date

If you are on 7.5

There is a rule event called "Apply on Page Load"

SELECT "[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]","[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]" FROM DUAL

Re: Need help with a rule that should default a field to the current date

Thanks for the suggestion. This is a table line, so the on page load isn't an option, but once I update the sql to "SELECT '[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]','[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]' FROM DUAL" I was able to accomplish what I needed.

Thanks so much.
