Maximum Dependencies limit in PPM Rules?

Hi,

I have  a case in which I have set a rule which has 15 fields in the dependencies.

Rule -Apply on field change.

Query:

SELECT rr,rr FROM (SELECT (ROUND(((140 - (
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_PROJECT_SIZE]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_ESTIMATE_OBJECTS]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_PROJECT_COMPLEXITY]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_CONFLICT]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_DEPLOYMENT_TIME]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_PERFORMANCE_TRACKS]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_TRACKS]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_SOX_COMPLIANCE]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_ORG_IMPACT]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_TECH_APPL]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_SUBCONTRACTOR]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_RISK_MANAGEMENT]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_ROLLBACK_PLANNING]+
[REQD.P.AXA_RMX_RTF_CRB_OPINION]))/126),2))
AS rr FROM DUAL)

Now the problem is when I enter the value in the first field(dependencies field) and move to the next field...I get knta-10521 error(Error in sql).
But when all the dependency fields are entered, the rule works fine and the result column is filled.

CAn you guys help in avoiding the error message which will be irritating for the end-user?

P.S: We have version 7.1 and are going to upgrade to 8.4 this month

Thanks in advance,
Roobesh

Re: Maximum Dependencies limit in PPM Rules?

Hi,

we are having a similar argument with HP regarding this: HP is saying that there is a OR logic for triggering the rule based on the changed values in the dependant fields.

In our case (a simpler rule with only 2 dependenant fields, the rule triggers based on an AND rule.

Also, in our opinion, it makes more sense for the logic to be AND.

cheers

alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the swift reply.
But is there a workaround for my case?

Thanks,

Re: Maximum Dependencies limit in PPM Rules?

Hi,

unfortunately no...

You can try using NVL and/or DECODE.

Cheers
