What is the best way to manage contractors (unnamed and named) in PPM because they need to exist in the work plan. We are struggling with the ramifications of what burden it would be in relation to the resource pool.

I would recommend the following settings for External Resources/Contractors 1. Create an entry under Resource Category for External/Contractors and associate all external resources and contractors to this category. This will help identify the external resources from internal resources. 2. Associate the external resources to the corresponding resource pool that is managed by their functional manager. 3. Setup a resource specific cost rule only if the external resource has a cost rule that is different from the standard baked rate. 4. Create a timesheet policy that specific for External resources and associate all external resources to this timesheet policy.
