Making the "Created By" field editable

Hi, we recently installed PPM 7.5 with the Quickstart program. As part of our initial data load, about 200 new project requests were added to our production environment with the "Created By" value of "Admin User" I would really like to make that field editable, so that our BRM can update it with a real user name. I can see where the option to make this field "display only" is set to "yes", but it is greyed out (Request Type Header). Am I looking in the wrong place? (I do have full admin rights in the system). Any help you can provide would be great! Thanks! Trina

Re: Making the "Created By" field editable

Hi,
It is logical to make this field not editable, If you have loaded the Project by XML Import, there is a option to load the original 'created by' Name of the lower version into PPM.

Else write update Query..not sure of any other workarounds.

Re: Making the "Created By" field editable

Yeah. I would have to agree that making it read only makes sense.. usually. But, with these 200+ records that were pushed into the tool via xml, we'd really like to assign the names of the people who originally created the requests (when we were tracking everything old school with Excel).

If a query is the only option, is that something that needs to be done directly on the server, outside the admin interface?

Thanks again!

Re: Making the "Created By" field editable

If you have decided to go for Update Query.

Please update the following tables.
KCRT_REQUESTS
KCRT_REQUEST_DETAILS
KCRT_REQ_HEADER_DETAILS

You have to update the DB. Sample update Query.

Update knta_requests set created_by=39523
Where request_id=235412

Re: Making the "Created By" field editable

Don't forget to also clear the server cache after the updates or you might not see the changes when you look at a request...

Re: Making the "Created By" field editable

Yes you are right.

Log on to PPM Application Server.

In Cygwin or command Prompt, Go to the directory where the application is installed.

run the below commands.

cd bin
sh kRunCacheManager.sh A

In most of the cases the changes will reflect only when cache is cleared.
