Liscencing Issue

Hi there,

I'm having a problem with the liscences,
when i try to start the Mercury ITG PPM service, it fails.

following is the error which the serverlog.txt file displays

could anybody help me out to resolve this?

my requirement is to temporarily disable the liscence from the database (if possible) and then later on, after starting the service, disabling the users which are exceeting the 300 limit.

Re: Liscencing Issue

Raheel,

Iam not sure which version of PPM you are in. As you have mentioned Mercury ITG I assume it is 6.0.

Check out the table KNTA_USER_PRODUCTS and KNTA_PRODUCTS(for getting the product ID). Remove some users who are linked with licenses from KNTA_USER_PRODUCTS.In your case you need to remove 51 TM licenses. Then try to bring up the server. This should sove your problem.
If Iam not wrong, this should work even if you are in version 7.1 also as the data model for products hasnt changed.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Liscencing Issue

Hello Raheel,
you can also just disable some users by setting the END_DATE in KNTA_USERS to SYSDATE - 1, then start the server, sort out the licence distribution and enable the users again.

Guys

Thanks a lot for the reply, and this is exactly what I wanted.

I hope that with the help of the experts on the HP forum, I will get the grip on the product very soon, as I'm a newbie on it.
