Include delay between 2 steps

Hi ,

We would like to know how to provide delay between 2 different execution steps like sleep etc.., the reason for this is we have child requests getting created from parent, and during the child moves ahead in the request there is a parameter which checks for particular value in the token based on which the child requests moves ahead, during this process the workflow gets stuck there.

Let us know if you have any other workaround or else steps to add delay between steps.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Include delay between 2 steps

Add an immediate execution step where you want the delay and execute the sleep command. See the attachment for an example.

Hi ,

THanks for the reply,

When the parent is created and gets pass through the delay step without any error and the timer works fine, but when the child passes through the delay step, the request gets stuck.

Thanks in advance.

What is the child request trying to do when it gets stuck?

Re: Include delay between 2 steps

Scenario:

We have parent request which follows A, B, C steps and when child gets created from parent the workflow starts from execution step between A and B, and before it reaches Step B, we check for particular value in the token, and where the request gets stuck. We tried with simple token and with sql select statement.

What I observed is that the token does not get populated and remain null but if I keep a manual execution step before the token checking step, and move the request from the manual execution step, all work properly.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Include delay between 2 steps

What kind of token are you referring to? Is this the token for a field that the child inherited from the parent?

Re: Include delay between 2 steps

yes, the field token, the value gets inherited from Parent to child. We are having a step checking token values, based on which the workflow would move ahead, this fails when the child request goes pass through this step.

Re: Include delay between 2 steps

Is the token value set in the parent request before or after the child request is being created?

//Add this to "OnDomLoad" event
