In Project Cost Portlet what differences between Planned To Date and Total Planned Cost?

I'm a beginner in financial management and I cannot figure out what differences between terms "Planned To Date" and "Total Planned Cost" that are shown in portlet "Project Cost" ? I already tried to search in all guide of user. But I couldn't.

So, somebody can explain it to me?

Hello

To understand it, let's take an example:

You have a project which is planned for year 2016 (Jan - Dec) where planned cost for each month is $100 and you are in the month of March-2016.  In such case below would be the values

1. Planned To Date: $300

2. Total Planned Cost: $1200

LEt me know if it answers your question.

Thanks,

Shiwan
