How to make a field mandatory while closing a request

Hi,

Can some one tell me how to make a field mandatory while closing a request.
Source Name: Close (Immediate success)
Request Status: Closed

In Demand Management under "Status Dependies" I have enabled "Required" option for Request Type "Closed", even then it I don't get prompt for field, request will be closed automatically.

Please put a OR step before your close step and give the status as 'Closed' and try once.

The Last step will be 'closed(Succ...)' execution step right?

Before that step put OR conditional step... Give the status as 'Closed' for this OR Step.

See step no 20 in the snap attached.

Re: How to make a field mandatory while closing a request

Hi.
If in your WF before "closed step" allow execution steps(immediate) then status dep not working. You need set any status to execution step for example "Before_Closing" and set field "X" requered on status "Before_Closing".
If you have any subFW before "closed step" then you need set status and status dep to last (exit) step in subFW.
All it possibility i check myself and all forking fine.
Good Luck

Re: How to make a field mandatory while closing a request

Hi Mahendran,

I have added "OR" step and added request status as "Closed" and made the field mandatory for this state.
Now when user enters a value to this field request stays in this step only, it is not moving to next step.

As Alexander said workflow has a sub workflow, I have added â ORâ step as Last step in sub workflow. â Close (Immediate Success)â is the last step in workflow

Our requirement is I need to make a field mandatory as last step in sub workflow, when user enters the data in the field it should automatically move to main workflow and close the request.

Could you please tell me if this can be achieved?

Hi Alexander, Could you please provide me the screen shot of the steps you tried?

Re: How to make a field mandatory while closing a request

Hum.... I am not exactly sure what the Problem is, I think if we keep the OR Step before the Execution step, It will not work.

For testing purpose Please introduce a Decision Step after the OR Step and before 'Return From Sub-Work Flow' step and see how it work, If I am right... We can look for more solutions.
