How to limit file types in File Chooser?

Hi All,

I'm fairly new in using HP Project and Portfolio Management Center Version 7.5.0 and I've just been assigned as of the Administrators.

I have successfully created objects that we need for migration. The problem I'm having is that when the users click on the File Chooser button, I need to limit the file types to i.e. *.sql only or *.prog. Depending on the object they are migrating.

In the attached image, I have 4 types available plus "All (*.*)". If I only wanted *.sql, how can I do this?

Thanks.

Hi,

you can add the desired values in the DLV - Files of Type validation and refresh the validation cache.

The filter should then work properly with the new values

Re: How to limit file types in File Chooser?

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I've added the desire values in the DLV - Files of Type validation. But depending on the object type that I wish to add, I need the validation to default to for example: *.sql for SQL Objects, *.fmb for Forms object and so on. I also want to prevent users from changing the Files of Type.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Re: How to limit file types in File Chooser?

We do this with a validation type Command With Delimited Output. The commands in the validation look something like:

ksc_connect_source_server
cd [P.P_SUB_PATH]
ksc_capture_output ls -1 *.sql
ksc_exit
