How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

Hi,

We are using 'Request List' extensively. We have 21 types of statuses for Development Request. However, user cannot select all these statuses (for filtering requests in this portlet) and it throws error saying - "You have exceeded maximum lenght...".

(Snap attached)

How to increase this field length?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!
Sam.

Re: How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

Hi Sam,
Can you show the validation of the filter field?

I hope you would have used 'Text Field - 200'

You can try to increase this value.

Thanks Mahendran.

But this issue does not happen on Production. But occurs only on Test.

Re: How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

Please raise a case with HP Support, Ask them whether they have any work-arounds for this. Most of the time they do have.

I Remember you telling that PROD has 20 Status and Test Environment have 21 Statuses. Sorry if I am false.

Count the number of characters in the 'Status' filter.

Re: How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

Yeah, even if I count the number of characters, both are same in Prod and Test.

If it would have happened on both Test and Prod I can understand. But, Prod has no issues its just an issue with Test.

So the question is, where could be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Sam.

Re: How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

Hi, I just had a similar issue from one of our users. The resolution was to clear their cache and then refresh their screen. They were then able to use the portlet as designed.
Hope this helps.

Re: How to increase Status field length in Request List portlet

In your PROD and TEST workbench 'Enable JDBC Logging' in 'Debug Settings'.

Run the portlet with same input Parameters in both the environments, and try to get the Query from the JDBC Log and see differences in both the extracted Query.

Remember to disable the logging after you got the Query.

Also make the error to occur and take the server log and see whether you get any leads there.

Since this is a pure Java Portlet, have to go in a trail and error method. I personally believe HP Support can help more.
